Warriors sweep Wampus Cats in NSL battle
CLARK FORK — Sophomore Hope Kinney hit four kills and three aces in defeat, as the Wampus Cats lost to the Warriors 25-16, 25-21, 25-17 on Tuesday night in North Star League volleyball action at Clark Fork High School.
Clark Fork (3-9, 1-5 NSL) was without the services of their primary outside hitter Leslie Kiebert, who was in Boise, so head coach Courtenay Kiebert took some solace in the loss.
“Overall they had some spurts of playing really good volleyball, then they would kind of die off,” said Kiebert. “We’re having a hard time playing for 25 points.”
Allison Warner had four set assists and Niki Vandenhouten four digs for the Cats, who had had to alter their attack a little against the Warriors (2-8, 2-1 NSL).
“Leslie is always one of our leaders, so it was nice for the girls to have to not depend on her,” said Kiebert. “We’re getting the hang of it. Our serving and passing is getting better.”
Clark Fork is at 3A Timberlake on Thursday, looking for the chance to make some strides against a bigger program
