SANDPOINT — A misdemeanor charge has been filed against a Spokane man who accidentally killed a motorist on U.S. Highway 2 last spring, according to the Idaho Statewide Trial Court Record System.

Christopher Dale Jewsbury’s case remains filed under seal until he makes an initial court appearance or an attorney files a notice of appearance in the matter. An initial court hearing is set for later this month.

Bonner County Deputy Prosecutor Roger Hanlon has previously advised the family of the woman who was killed in the crash that he planned charge Jewsbury with vehicular manslaughter at the misdemeanor level.

Idaho State Police said Jewsbury was driving westbound when he crossed into the east lane of travel, sideswiped an oncoming sport utility vehicle and crashed head-on into a sedan with his pickup truck
