MOSCOW — Madi Schoening could hardly have chosen a more dramatic time to score her first career goal.
With Moscow and Sandpoint gridlocked in a 0-0 tie late in the game, the Bulldog junior defender knocked in Riley Couch’s corner kick, sending her squad to a narrow 1-0 win over the Bears on Tuesday at Oylear Field.
“Scoring your first varsity goal in the 77th minute against a tough league opponent, that’s about as dramatic as it gets,” Sandpoint coach Conor Baranski said. “It was a great goal by Madi. Couldn’t be more proud of her.”
