Bulldogs hold own at Will Johnson Invitational

| October 14, 2014 7:00 AM

SANDPOINT — The Sandpoint Cross Country team hosted the 5th annual Will Johnson Invitational on Saturday, with nearly 500 runners competing from pre-school through adult.

The day honored teammate Will Johnson, who passed away in a skiing accident five years ago, and once again the weather was nearly perfect for running on the scenic course, as it capped out in the mid 60s.

The varsity girls had a challenging task of running the home meet without their top two runners, but stepped up to the challenge and placed second overall to regional power Coeur d’Alene.
