Just when I thought I would rip my satellite dish off the house if I heard another word about Ebola, my friend Carol, a flight attendant for United Airlines, called.

“What do you think of this Ebola stuff?” she asked. “Should I keep flying?”

My answer was simple. She has a far more likely chance of contracting influenza than Ebola. “Did you get your flu shot?” I asked.

To put that question into perspective I told her that the Centers for Disease Control reported that 53,470 cases of influenza were confirmed from Sept. 29, 2013, to May 17, 2014, in the U.S. We have had three cases of Ebola and the person who started it was exposed in West Africa.
