City confident street plan is ready to roll
SANDPOINT — City officials feel prepared to roll out the new city streets plan if they get the go-ahead from Idaho Transportation Department officials.
At a Bonner County Area Transportation Team meeting Wednesday morning, Sandpoint Public Works director Kody Van Dyk said city officials feel the new streets plan has been thoroughly considered and analyzed. In a presentation similar to that given at Sandpoint Rotary and Greater Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce meetings in the past several weeks, Van Dyk detailed the major operational changes along key Sandpoint streets, including two-way traffic on Fifth Avenue, a traffic signal at the Fifth and Church intersection, no signal at Pine and Fifth and two-way traffic on Church and Cedar between First and Fifth.
