Sandpoint ready to make some noise at state
SANDPOINT — Never underestimate the power of seniors at a state tournament, as Sandpoint takes to the court this morning against Bishop Kelly in the opening match of the 4A state volleyball tournament at Kimberly High School.
The Bulldog volleyball team boasts nine seniors, the backbone of a team that boasts plenty of state experience. That’s nine players that know this is the last chance they’ll ever have in high school, and nine players that will go down swinging, diving and doing whatever it takes to win.
Led by senior outside hitter Taylor Martin, the Bulldogs (16-16) feel they have the firepower and defense to win some matches. Martin had 20 kills in each of the wins over Moscow at districts, and will no doubt be the go-to hitter at state in the tight matches, where points become difficult.
