SANDPOINT — Continuing a relationship that’s proven mutually beneficial over the past years, the city will provide ambulance support for Bonner County EMS next year.

Council members approved the agreement following a presentation by Sandpoint Fire Chief Ron Stocking. The agreement’s authorization will mean that Sandpoint Fire Department continues to provide back-up emergency and non-emergency ambulance service. In return for this service, BCEMS will pay the city an annual sum of $25,000 and furnish the fire department with an ambulance. The county will also reimburse the city for any repairs the ambulance may require.

The new agreement will begin on Oct. 1, 2014, and run for a period of one year.
