Bulldogs and Bengals set to renew old acquaintances
SANDPOINT — Sure, Sandpoint has racked up an average of 450 yards of offense and 44 points in the first two games of the season, but the numbers that matter most are 0-2, their record after two weeks.
Sandpoint will look to get one in the win column tonight when they travel south to face 5A Lewiston, the third straight school from a higher classification after losing close games against Post Falls and University.
“When I look at the team, even though the offense is doing well on the surface, we’re only really playing at a 60 percent efficiency rate,” said Sandpoint head coach Satini Puailoa, noting there is plenty of room to improve. “We’ve closed the gap physically, but still have a lot of young kids. What we haven’t done against good competition is grind it out.”
