Knights down Wampus Cats

| September 13, 2014 7:00 AM

CLARK FORK — A 40 yard punt return by Lakeside’s Hunter Kolar in the fourth quarter proved to be the winning score, as the Knights edged the Wampus Cats 20-14 in a tightly contested White Star League affair on Friday night in Clark Fork.

Brandan Bowen continues to make a case for league player of the year, rushing 23 times for 156 yards and a touchdown, and also throwing for a score, as the lead changed hands five times.

“It was an exciting game to be a part of. We had a chance to tie it up and win it at the end of the game, but the ball was intercepted with a minute left,” said Bulldogs head coach Brian Arthun. “They (Knights) had 28 kids and we had 10. They just ended up wearing us down.”
