Bulldogs ratchet up defense in 3-0 shutout of Bengals
SANDPOINT — Kyle Stanley scored his team-high fifth and sixth goals of the season, and C.J. Crane added a goal and an assist, as Sandpoint took care of business against Lewiston in a 3-0 shutout on Thursday in nonleague boys soccer action at Pine St. Field.
The Bulldogs (4-4) evened their record with a solid defensive effort, led by the back four of Roan Allen, Owen Stebbins, Tanner Kohal and Jared Cooper. Kyle Hertel stopped two shots to earn his second shutout of the season in goal.
“It was a good effort defensively,” said Bulldogs head coach Adam Tajan. “Lewiston always brings some athletes and heart, and I don’t think they challenged Kyle once.”
Sandpoint travels south to face Moscow on Saturday in a 4A Inland Empire League contest.
