Balanced Bulldogs down GSL's Mead in tennis season opener
SPOKANE — The depth of the Sandpoint tennis team was on display Wednesday in the season opener, as the Bulldogs downed Greater Spokane League host school Mead 11-9 in a dual played with Washington rules, which doesn’t include mixed doubles.
Broc Storro picked up the lone win in boys singles, and also teamed with Patrick Rockwell to win in doubles.
“Broc played a beautiful singles match, staying aggressive and controlled. His consistent serving was a joy to watch,” said Bulldogs head coach Kent Anderson, lauding his doubles play as well. “They won under huge pressure in the last match of the day with a third set tiebreaker. Patrick was dominant at the net hitting sharp angles.”
