Bulldog girls post sweep of Vikings in IEL tennis dual win

COEUR d’ALENE — Senior Cassidy Story notched another impressive win, downing Coeur d’Alene’s Lauren Carlsen 6-3, 5-7, 6-3 at No. 1 girls singles, leading the Bulldogs to an impressive 9-3 win over the 5A Vikings on Monday in Inland Empire League tennis action at Coeur d’Alene High School.

Caitlyn Cole and Liz Parsley also notched straight set wins, Laney Search and Khloe Kyllonen took care of business at No. 1 doubles, and Violet Plummer and Lauren Hon won in straight sets at No. 2 doubles, as the girls team swept all of its matches on the day.

Bulldogs head coach Kent Anderson said it was the first time all year his varsity has been at full strength, and the girls’ sweep was not a surprise.
