Soccer referee clinic set for Saturday

| August 11, 2015 7:00 AM

Do you like soccer?

Would you like to get paid to exercise?

If you answered yes — and are 13 years old or older — this is your opportunity to become a certified USSF referee.

The only entry level soccer referee course offered in the Sandpoint area this year will be held this Saturday at Sandpoint High School.

The one-day clinic will be held from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. with a test scheduled for immediately after the clinic.

Dave Palmer, Idaho’s state director of soccer instruction, will be leading the informative clinic.

Palmer promises a program filled with video examples as well as personal solutions to the many issues facing referees.

The cost of the clinic is $30 and USSF registration is $40. The cost of the course can easily be covered by reffing several youth league, Strikers or Pend Oreille Cup games this fall.

To be prepared for the course, students must review the online modules. That information can be found on the Sandpoint Soccer website. On the website is also a registration form as well as more information.
