Parker Ridge fire growing
BONNERS FERRY – Fire crews are working to contain the Parker Ridge Fire.
The fire, located northwest of Bonners Ferry, has burned 1,200 acres with 0 percent contained.
According to Kary Maddox, public information officer of the Parker Ridge Fire, the fire was caused by a lightning strike July 27. Timber and brush are fueling the fire that about 76 firefighters are working to distinguish. Maddox said the national preparedness level has risen to its highest alert with increasing fire activity across the nation.
