Angels gear up for backpack program

SANDPOINT — The Angels Over Sandpoint are preparing for their 13th annual Back to School event providing backpacks and school supplies to children in Bonner County.

Many working parents cannot afford to purchase necessary school supplies, especially when they have more than one child. More than 2,000 students in Bonner County participate in the Free and Reduced Lunch Program; these are the students this program supports.

The Angels’ goal is for at least 1,000 children to receive school supplies and backpacks this year. This will require approximately $30,000. Community support is vital in reaching this goal.
