City doesn't care what residents really want

| August 16, 2015 7:00 AM

It seems that we are going to have a city administrator with a $100,000-plus salary shoved down our throats, like it or not. No “real” input from the people such as a vote.

Wouldn’t you think the city charter would have to be changed to transition from a strong to a weak mayor system? And the administrator’s duties: Continuity from one city administration to another. That’s what record keeping is for.

Then again perchance the people don’t want 100-percent continuity. That’s what elections are for, to change things. Like getting rid of the useless flower-hanging Sandpoint Business Improvement District, the equally useless Urban Renewal or the Diamond parking Nazis to name a few.
