SANDPOINT — Rain-fueled flooding closed several Bonner County roads on Wednesday, sheriff's officials said.

Sheriff's officials advised motorists to steer clear of the 12,000 block of North Road west of Bronx Road at 5 a.m. due to water over road. Five hours later the road in that area washed out.

West Bronx at the Sand Creek Bridge was closed at about 8:43 a.m. due to flooding. Washouts were also reported in the 7300 block of Upper Pack River Road and the 700 block of Grouse Creek Road.

However, those three routes were restored by Wednesday afternoon.

"The only one that's still closed is North Boyer," Bob Howard, director of emergency management for the county, said on Wednesday evening.
