SAGLE — A fireplace is the suspected cause of a fire which destroyed a Sagle home Saturday, Selkirk Fire, Rescue & EMS Chief Ron Stocking said.

The home was already fully engulfed when crews responded to the fire at 128 Tranquil Trail early Saturday afternoon. The homeowner told fire crews he was burning wood in the fireplace when he spotted the blaze.
