Sandpoint Elks honored as month's top business

SANDPOINT — Greater Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce officials said they are proud to recognize Sandpoint Elks Lodge No. 1376 as the organization’s December’s Businessv of the Month.

The lodge was chartered in 1920 and has 438 members. The Elks strive to serve and invest in the community. The lodge is on Highway 200 in Ponderay and include a nine-hole golf course open to the public along with banquet facilities for rental to community organizations and private events.

The Elks are committed in the community in numerous ways. They provide academic, athletic, and social programs for the students in public, private, and home schools in Bonner and Boundary counties, and sponsor youth programs, including the Dictionary Project for third-grade students, Constitution Booklet Program for high school students, drug awareness, Hoop Shoot, 4H Fair, Junior Golf, and Children Winter Movie Nights. In addition, the Elks have a local college scholarship program for high school seniors and a national scholarship program available sponsored by the Elks National Foundation.
