SANDPOINT — The shooting death of a Bonner County man during a protracted domestic attack in Edgemere last fall is being ruled a justifiable homicide.

Bonner County Prosecutor Louis Marshall announced on Thursday that his office will not pursue charges against the wife of Scott Spangler after reviewing evidence in the case, which included open-line 911 calls that captured audio of the deadly clash.

“In my opinion it is extremely unlikely that (Spangler’s wife) could have premeditated this event and concocted the horror she exhibited through her 911 calls and subsequent interview by a sheriff's deputy,” Marshall said in a letter to Det. Sgt. Gary Johnston and Coroner Kitt Rose informing them of the charging decision.
