SANDPOINT — Classmates from around the country sent in photos, donations and money — wanting to do what they could to help Ed Brown.

Brown, a local tree-trimmer, was paralyzed from the waist down in a single-vehicle accident in October when he was ejected from the vehicle. He had no medical insurance at the time of the accident.

“Everyone wanted to do something,” said one volunteer, a member of Brown’s Sandpoint High School 1978 graduating class, before rushing off.

Former classmates weren’t the only ones wanting to help.
