Wow, you can’t walk into any grocery store right now and not see an abundance of bright red, beribboned, heart shaped boxes of chocolates! They might be a reminder that Valentine’s Day is just a week and a half away. Or, maybe it’s because February is heart health awareness month. Well, maybe they would be pushing flowers instead of fat laden candy if that were the case.

Nonetheless, we’re going to talk about heart health this month. Yup, all month. Because, it is the leading cause of death for both men and women and can, in most cases, be prevented. According to the Centers for Disease Control, every year 720,000 Americans will have a heart attack. Of these, 515,000 people are having their first one. Makes you think about your lifestyle, doesn’t it?
