Hawks fly pass Bulldogs in league clash

| February 14, 2015 6:00 AM

SANDPOINT — It was a tough way to start the game for Lakeland, as senior starter Jake Ram injured his ankle just 15 seconds into a 4A Inland Empire League showdown Friday night at Sandpoint High School.

But the Hawks (15-5, 3-1 4A IEL) didn’t bat an eye without one of their top players, as Tyrel Derrick tallied 16 points and five assists, Jay Plunkett added 14 points and Slader Ray eight points, six rebounds and two steals in a 48-30 win over the Bulldogs. The win earned the Hawks the No. 1 seed at the district tournament next week.
