Host of Bulldogs garner All-IEL hoops honors

SANDPOINT — In a surprise to nobody, the Bulldog girls basketball team had ample representation on the 4A All Inland Empire League team, as voted on recently by the league’s coaches.

Junior guard Madi Schoening, who poured in a robust 21 points per game this season, including a school-record 49 against league foe Lakeland, was the easy choice for Most Valuable Player. Head coach Duane Ward also was honored with Coach of the Year, as he helped guide the Bulldogs to an undefeated run in 4A North play.
