CLARK FORK — Brandan Bowen and Geoffry Boudousquie each had a strong showing as the lone two players honored on Senior Night, but Clark Fork fell short in a 63-54 loss to Wallace in North Star League basketball Tuesday night in Clark Fork.

Boudousquie tallied 10 points, 10 rebounds and three steals, yet another double-double for the post, and Bowen put up 15 points, seven assists and four steals, as the Wampus Cats (4-13, 2-6 NSL) put together one of their better games of the season.

The Cats hit 7 of 16 attempts from beyond the arc, and had only three baskets that didn’t have an assist.

“That was the best game I’ve ever seen Brandan play. He controlled the ball, and it was the best passing game we’ve had all year long,” said Cats head coach Corey Vogel, whose team led by two at half and kept the game close for most of the second half. “We were loose, we passed well and we made our shots. It was a fun Senior Night. We were in it all the way.”

Sophomore Conorey Vogel had his best game of the season in defeat, stuffing the stat sheet with seven points, four rebounds, four steals and three assists, and Eich Anderson posted 10 points and six boards for the Cats.

Brady Brantley scored 15 of his game-high 24 points in the fourth quarter to lead the Miners (11-8, 6-2), who capitalized on some second chance points down the stretch.

Despite the loss, Vogel was pleased with his team’s play, and likes what they’re doing heading into districts.

“We’re starting to flow better,” said Vogel. “This was one of the first times all year we put a whole game together. We broke their press really well.”

Clark Fork travels to face 3A Bonners Ferry in the regular season finale on Thursday.
