LPOSD picks new broadband provider

SANDPOINT — To state that Lake Pend Oreille School District officials have been busy during the past week trying to find a new broadband provider would be an understatement. But their efforts will likely keep district students and staff from losing their Internet connections Monday.

“We’ve spent a lot of time both last week and this week with Sen. (Shawn) Keough essentially telling us to prepare for the worst,” Wittwer said.

The worst arrived last week when Idaho’s 4th District Court affirmed that a $60 million contract between the Idaho Department of Administration and Internet contractors for the Idaho Education Network’s statewide educational broadband network was illegal.
