Good heart health habits can start at any age

Let’s recap. So far this month we’ve talked about heart attacks and how the symptoms differ in men and women. We’ve talked about angina and how it can be a precursor to more serious heart problems. We haven’t talked about heart failure, arrhythmia and heart valve problems, all of which can be uncomfortable at best and life threatening at worst.

The American Heart Association describes these types of cardiovascular disease. “Heart failure doesn’t mean that the heart stops beating. It means the heart isn’t pumping blood as well as it should. The heart keeps working, but the body’s need for blood and oxygen isn’t being met.
