Empire Builder route back on track

SANDPOINT — Amtrak is slated to resume operating its Empire Builder on its regular schedule in both directions this month.

Restoration of the schedule will mean passengers in Sandpoint will again enjoy same-day round trips to Portland or Seattle, according to Amtrak and BNSF Railway. The return of the previous timetables from Seattle and Portland will also offer more attractive arrival and departure times for the balance of the recreation season in Montana’s Flathead Valley and Glacier National Park.
