Wampus Cats fall short
CLARK FORK — Eich Anderson and Geoffrey Boudousquie each had strong games, but Clark Fork simply couldn’t match the depth and speed of Selkirk in a 50-21 loss in nonleague boys basketball on Saturday at Clark Fork High School.
Anderson posted 11 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Wampus Cats (2-4), who only committed 12 turnovers in the loss.
“We played really great defense, just couldn’t put the ball in the hoop,” said Cats head coach Corey Vogel. “We played hard, just didn’t have enough to stay with them. These games against bigger schools will pay off when we play our league games.”
Geoffrey Boudousquie provided a bright spot in defeat, swatting six shots to go with six boards, four points and two assists.
“He really came on in the second half,” said Vogel of his 6-3 post. “He starting playing a little bit of angry basketball in the second half, that was fun to see.”
Spencer Jeffres added four points and Hunter Boudousquie one to round out the scoring, and Brandan Bowen tallied three steals.
The Wampus Cats return to action on Thursday night when they host Mullan, looking to go 2-0 in North Star League play.
