Farmin leads Sandpoint in trap shoot

SANDPOINT — Tim Farmin had his shooting eye sharp, nailing 23 of 25 targets to lead the Sandpoint Gun Club during the first week of the Spokesman Review Trap Shoot on Sunday.

John Jaeger and Bob Bristol each carded a 22, and Randy Poelstra, Doyle Crandall, Mike Hunter and Dave Banister each scored 21, as Sandpoint posted a team score of 88 to start the season.

Jerry Whitmire had the hot hand to lead Sandpoint during the first week of the adjoining Big Sky Postal Shoot, scoring a 40 out of a possible 50 targets. Mike Hunter tallied a 39, and Mike Gehin, Tim Farmin, John Jaeger and Randy Poelstra a 38, as Sandpoint posted a team score of 155.
