Norris, Collado help Bulldogs bounce Tigers
SANDPOINT — Davan Norris dropped in a game-high 13 points, including two 3-pointers, and the Bulldogs’ brought full court pressure from start to finish, earning a 64-45 win over Timberlake in non-league boys basketball Tuesday night at Les Rogers Court.
Carlos Collado added 10 points, all on strong low post moves, and Skyler Speakman and Matt Timothy combined for 17 points, as the Bulldogs dictated the pace and led from start to finish.
The Bulldogs (4-8) struggled from the foul stripe, making just 9 of 21 attempts, and let the Tigers get a lot of second chance points, as the lead was just 10 with two minutes left in the third quarter.
“It was a good win, but we can play better. Matt really sparked us off the bench,” said head coach Kent Leiss. “Carlos was a huge presence inside when we got him the ball.”
Brandon Hausladen and Mike Baier each scored nine to lead the Tigers (1-10), Vance Kistler added five points and three steals and Brayden Menti four points and four boards in defeat.
The game served as a nice tune-up for the Bulldogs, who start off the 4A Inland Empire League schedule on Saturday night when Moscow comes to town. Tipoff is slated for 6 p.m. at Les Rogers Court.
