SANDPOINT — Be sure to bring hearing protection if you have any business at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2453 in Sandpoint in the near future, as some noisy renovations began on the venerable veteran’s building Tuesday.

Jackhammers were making quick work of the concrete floor of the women’s restroom as laborers worked to remove existing plumbing and preparing for new.

The scope of the project includes updating both of the post’s bathrooms, upgrading them to American’s with Disabilities handicapped accessible standards. A new hallway arch and expansion of the existing veteran service officer’s office space are also planned.
