2015 promises to be great year politically?

| January 15, 2015 6:00 AM

2015 will be a great year politically with the Republicans firmly in control of both houses of Congress poised to say “No” to big spending and the expansion of big government, right? Well, not exactly.

The Republicans want to crown our would-be king with ever-so-much more power in the name of free trade. Free trade sounds noble, but in reality it has a lot more to do with undermining national sovereignty and hence the freedom that we fought the Revolutionary War over than it does trade.

To implement the TransPacific Partnership and the Transatlantic Trade & Investment Partnership, Obama needs Trade Promotion Authority legislation which the Republican leadership is eager to give him and which Idaho’s entire delegation favors. These people need to be contacted immediately and urged to vote “no.”
