Group tent camping OK'd at City Beach
SANDPOINT — It’s been done before with great results, at least according to testimony from Sandpoint residents and business owners at Wednesday’s city council meeting.
Allowing an organized group of well-heeled bicyclists to tent camp on City Beach Park is a boon for the city.
“The last time they were here it was fantastic,” Steve Meyer, owner of Pend d’Oreille Winery, told the council.
The council — absent Councilman Bob Camp — voted unanimously to approve a temporary code modification to allow tent camping at the park to accommodate the non-profit bicycle education group, Ride Idaho.
