Vikings slow down Bulldogs to avenge loss
SANDPOINT — After losing by 27 points in the first meeting, Coeur d’Alene opted to change things up the second time around, avenging a loss to Sandpoint with a 33-26 win in non-league girls basketball Tuesday night at Les Rogers Court.
Madisen Scholwinski posted a double-double with 13 points and 11 boards, and Emily Callahan added eight points, four assists and four steals for the Vikings (10-9), who gave up just 10 first half points.
Schoening led the Bulldogs (10-8) with 13 points, eight rebounds and four steals, and Elani Williams added six points and 12 rebounds, but offense was tough to come by after scoring 64 in the first meeting.
