Wampus Cat boys and girls teams fall to Selkirk
SELKIRK, Wash. — Eich Anderson posted 11 points and 11 rebounds and Brandan Bowen 15 points and two steals, but the Wampus Cats were simply out-manned, falling 67-38 to Selkirk in nonleague boys basketball on Tuesday night at Selkirk High School.
Geoffry Boudousquie added four points and two blocks, Spencer Jeffres six points, and Conorey Vogel two points and two assists for the Cats (4-9), who played Selkirk a lot tougher in the second meeting of the season.
“We had more points in the first half than we did the entire game the first time we played this team,” said head coach Corey Vogel. “We handled their pressure very well, but they just kept pulling away.”
Clark Fork hosts Lakeside on Saturday.
• Kiebert’s big night not enough in loss
Leslie Kiebert scored 14 points to lead Clark Fork, which fell 35-23 to Selkirk on Tuesday night. The Wampus Cats (1-8) returned to action after missing the past three games without enough players.
Alicia Heigis played in her first action of the season, pulling down nine rebounds to go with two points, Nona Young added five boards, Emily Garman four points, Allison Warner two and Leah Crumpton one in the loss.
The Wampus Cats, who are back to having six healthy players, are at Lakeside tomorrow night in a makeup game, before hosting the Knights on Saturday.
