MOSCOW — Grace Kirscher hit three 3-pointers and totaled 18 points, three steals and two assists as the Sandpoint Bulldogs beat the Moscow Bears 40-27 on Friday night at Memorial Gym to clinch the 5A Inland Empire League girls basketball title.

Madi Schoening added 11 points, eight rebounds, four assists and four steals for Sandpoint (12-8, 3-0 4A IEL).

“The key to the game was our defense,” Sandpoint head coach Duane Ward said. “It got them moving and into our offense. We hit some shots and made some free throws. We seem to play well when we play hard on defense. We also battled hard on the boards against a good rebounding team.

“Grace hit some shots from the outside and did a good job driving so she could get to the line,” Ward added.

Jada Simpson led Moscow (7-11, 2-2) with 10 points.

Sandpoint travels to Lakeland on Tuesday to wrap up the regular season.
