Pondering the city administrator job

| July 7, 2015 7:00 AM

On July 1, the Daily Bee reported on the front page on a plan by the Sandpoint City Council and mayor, to add a tier to our local government. They are considering hiring a city administrator.

This job would entail supervising all Sandpoint’s department heads (no mention as to how many heads there are); manage day-to-day operations and affairs of the city; recommend and develop policy based on mayor and council decisions; evaluate city staff and provide exceptional customer service. The job would take over many of the mayor’s and council’s current duties. It would pay somewhere around $100,000, plus benefits, depending on hours worked.
