Yanik wins Schweitzer climb

SANDPOINT — Former Sandpoint resident Jamey Yanik, a professional cyclist currently living in Boise, defended his title on Saturday at the Rails to Resort Hill Climb up Schweitzer.
Yanik, who holds the course record for the 8.5 mile climb at just over 32 minutes, returned to make a run a the record, but fell short in clocking a ridiculously fast 33:08 to win the event also know as the Schweitzer Hill Climb.
