COEUR d’ALENE — An unusually high forecasted temperature prompted Ironman Coeur d’Alene organizers to start Sunday’s race slightly earlier.
The new start time for Ironman will be at 5:30 a.m., organizers announced Tuesday. “Plans have already been made to increase medical personnel support on the course as well as to increase our on course misting stations, fluids, sponges and ice orders,” the release states. “We will continue to work on additional contingency plans if adverse weather conditions require further modifications to the event.”
The release adds that participants will be notified as soon as possible if any other schedule changes occur.
