It truly takes a village to make an old lady happy

| June 25, 2015 7:00 AM

It sometimes takes a village to make an old lady really, really happy. That’s precisely what happened to me and three other area women in the days leading up to and including Saturday, June 13.

A giant thank you to the scores of individuals and businesses who collaborated in or supported the 2015 Women of Wisdom Gala at Tango Café in Columbia Bank.

I’m pretty sure our individual smile meters went off the charts that day.

It was truly a magical and memorable experience for me and the other 2015 honorees.

For several years, members of Women Honoring Women Board have put forth their hearts, souls, talents, enthusiasm and generosity to create a very special experience for their annual honorees.

As a recipient of year’s program, I can say that both your efforts and the impact you hope to achieve through Women of Wisom were beyond superb.

To the many generous sponsors and in-kind donors, thank you for supporting this annual program.

To the staff at Tango Café, the luncheon and service were topnotch and classy.

To the community, friends and family---if you wrote a letter of support, sent cards or flowers, posted touching comments on Facebook, attended the gala, gave hugs, spoke in behalf of an honoree, etc., thank you so much.

The overall impact for me personally was overwhelming, humbling, emotional and definitely reflective.

I’m so grateful to have lived a wonderful life in this community and to be recognized along with so many other phenomenal women.

Thanks so much to all who, individually and collectively, created such a magical experience which makes me think of the lyrics to one of my favorite songs by Green Day: It’s something unpredictable, but in the end is right. I hope you had the time of your life.

A happy old gal who had the time of her life,

MARIANNE LOVE
