Sagle center changes prompt reflections

| March 12, 2015 7:00 AM

I grew up knowing a thing or two about sustainable living. I was one of five siblings, but this wasn’t all that made up a household. The numbers added up to parents, aunts, uncles and grandparents.

Hands-me-downs were a thing of the day. Everything was reusable. We raised a big garden, animals for production and table fare. We had no refrigerator, so canning and dehydration were a common fall event. Baking and dairy processing were done from scratch.
