Bulldogs holding annual car raffle
SANDPOINT — There are more than 170 kids signed up to play football next season for Sandpoint High School, and many of them will be out and about this weekend selling $5 raffle tickets during Lost in the ’50s.
On Sunday at noon, Lost in the '50s founder Carolyn Gleason will draw the winning ticket for a 1972 Dodge Dart. Football players from third grade through high school sell the tickets, and the money goes to many things, namely new equipment.
“The high school players are in really high quality equipment, and it’s because of the efforts of the community. It’s a win-win in so many ways,” said Sandpoint head football coach Satini Puailoa. “The high school doesn’t have a helmet or shoulder pads older than three years. It’s very high quality. The blocking sleds have been replaced, the headphones updated. So many things have gone on because of this raffle.”
