Woodward, Kennaly, Graham lead Bulldogs at districts

LEWISTON — The sprint medley relay team of Kyle Perry, Kaleb Merril, Kenny Kovalchuk and Mark Kennaly teamed up to clock an eight-second personal best, leading the Bulldog boys team to its third straight 4A Region 1 track and Field Championship on Friday in Lewiston.

Kennaly, who also won the 800 and finished second in the 400, ran a strong final 800 leg, earning the team the No. 1 seed at the upcoming state track meet.

“Mark was about four seconds back when he got the baton,” described Brass of the strong 1:59 split. “He reeled in the Lakeland 800 runner with 300 to go and unleashed a huge kick, winning by three seconds.”

Senior Mikhaela Woodward doubled up to win the 1,600 and 800, edging teammate Hannah Davidson by just .25 seconds in the 800, as both were among the 20 Bulldogs (14 boys, six girls) to punch their tickets to state.
