Reed's contributions, grace will be missed

Almost 40 years ago I and former Sandpoint Mayor Gretchen Hellar attended a meeting in Coeur d’Alene to hear a simple man with a wonderful smile and demeanor speak. His name was Scott Reed.

Even then his name was associated with some outstanding successes in cases he had represented in court. As one attorney put it after losing to Scott, “Man, that guy really does know the law.” He did indeed. His idea of the “law” was always correct, everyone had the same standing when they went to see him, “equal before the law.”
