Solis wins '72 Dodge Dart Swinger in raffle
SANDPOINT — When David Solis checked his phone and saw that he had seven messages waiting for him, his first thought was that a family member had died.
When he listened to them and realized they were all calling to tell him he’d won a car in the annual Bulldog football raffle, he thought they might be playing a prank on him.
Then Sandpoint football coach Satini Puailoa called Solis to let him know he’d won the vintage 1972 Dodge Dart, and it finally sunk in that it was for real.
“I said ‘shut the front door,’” recalled Solis, whose young daughter might have been the most excited of all. “She was whooping and hollering when we found out.”
