Overpopulation is a growing problem

Every day, 340,000 humans are born on this planet; 10,800 of them here in the U.S. that’s daily, folks. My question is, why do we continue to freely reproduce when our species already overpopulates this planet?
Earlier this year, Pope Francis was quoted as saying, “People must stop reproducing like rabbits.” I agree. Now that over 7 billion have arrived at the all-you-can-eat global buffet, do we expect the Earth to cater this event indefinitely, when she has been showing us very serious signs of her annoyance via climate change?
