Don't get ticked by creepy, crawly ticks
A reader called last week to say that she’d had a close encounter with a tick, and that this may be a good topic for this column since she’s pretty sure she won’t be alone this season. And, she’s right. The word is that because of our extremely mild winter, we just may have a very buggy warm-weather year.
Ticks are scientifically classified as Arachnida, same as spiders. Interestingly, these little blood suckers have, according to fossil records, been around for at least 90 million years. Persistent little bugs aren’t they?
