SHS to host college recruitment guru

SANDPOINT — Sandpoint High School is inviting you to spend an evening with recruitment guru Jack Renkens as he explores the myths and presents the realities of college recruiting.

The free entertaining, humorous and informative program, called Recruiting Realities, is a must for any parent, athlete or coach.

The program will be held on Saturday, May 30 at 10 a.m. at the Sandpoint High School auditorium.

The event poster lists two myths and two realities.

Myth No. 1: The time to gear up your recruiting effort is late in your junior year.

Reality: The best time to start is freshman year.

Myth No. 2: Only the top athletes can expect to get opportunities.

Reality: There are great schools all over the country looking for good athletes, good students and good kids right now.
